Trumark Homes Makes Largest Gift to charity: water with $156,000 Donation

San Ramon, Calif. (February 27, 2025) — Trumark Homes today announced a $156,000 donation to the global nonprofit charity: water, an organization dedicated to providing clean and safe water to the millions of people living without it. This year’s gift sets a record for the company’s annual contributions to the organization, due to Trumark Homes’ strong 2024 sales and continued growth across its four divisions.

Since partnering with charity: water in 2012, Trumark Homes has contributed a total of $681,000, bringing clean water to over 23,000 people through funded and built projects across Africa.
This latest gift will fund water point and sanitation facilities at five schools in the East African country of Rwanda, providing approximately 4,000 students and staff with access to clean water and safe sanitation facilities including gender-specific latrines and handwashing stations.

“Our employees are passionate about charity: water and the impact our annual donation has in providing clean and safe water to families and communities across Africa,” said Michael Maples, Principal and Co-Founder of Trumark Companies. “Everyone deserves access to clean and safe water, and we are particularly humbled that this year’s contribution will change the lives of so many students and educators, providing the necessary water infrastructure to help them focus on their studies and school activities.”

Trumark Homes has committed that for every 50 homes sold, they will work with charity: water to provide and serve approximately 200 people with clean water. In 2024, Trumark sold 1,106 homes across Northern, Central and Southern California, and Colorado, translating to approximately 4,000 people served by its giving – the highest annual contribution to-date.

charity: water is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization committed to ending the global water crisis by bringing clean and safe water to people around the world. With 703 million people in the world living without clean water, charity: water’s sustainable solutions bring clean, safe water where it’s needed most, bringing health and education, empowering women, and helping to grow economies.

UNICEF estimates that 436 million children worldwide live in areas of high or extremely high water vulnerability, which is a combination of water scarcity and low levels of drinking water service. With access to clean water across charity: water projects, the average household saves 70 minutes a day. This access restores health for families and reduces the amount of time that children, who often help with chores at home, spend walking and waiting to collect water each day. Additionally, there is a 31% reduction in absenteeism in schools with WASH services (water, sanitation and hygiene), allowing kids a chance to attend school and build a better future.

In the 13 years that Trumark Homes has supported charity: water, its contributions have funded 63 water projects across Africa from Ethiopia and Uganda to Malawi and Mozambique.

“Our teams are deeply rooted in the Western U.S. communities where we live and work across California and Colorado, creating high-quality and thoughtfully designed homes for individuals and families to plant their roots,” added Maples. “I am so proud that our employees are equally committed to the greater global good and devoted to the life-changing impact of our longstanding partnership with charity: water.”
