Our Story

We are Trumark Homes. Our legacy as a multidisciplinary real estate developer spans 35 years with expertise in homebuilding, land acquisition, entitlements, master-planned community development, office and retail. Guided by an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, forward-thinking innovation and corporate responsibility, we endeavor to add value with each new home community we create, offering residents a place to gather, a place to dream and a place to call home.

A vision that began in 1988, we have maintained our focus on award-winning, eye-catching architecture and flawless execution. More importantly, we uphold our tried-and-true mission to build homes in thriving locations that enhance the lives of our homeowners.
1988

Trumark Companies Founded

Founded Trumark Companies, a multidisciplinary development company focused on value-add residential and mixed-use entitlements. Trumark has successfully entitled over 5,000 residential lots and committed over $1.5 billion in investments since inception. 

1996

Trumark Commercial Launched

Trumark Commercial specialized in the development and construction of office, retail, mixed-use, industrial and R&D facilities in Northern California focusing on the greater San Francisco Bay Area and select Southern California markets. Trumark Commercial was dedicated to providing land sellers intelligent choices for development opportunities to maximize land values while serving businesses by providing commercial space in desirable locations that met market needs.

2008

Trumark Homes Begins Operations

Trumark Homes began operations as a vertically integrated homebuilder. Focused on building communities in thriving locations throughout California and Colorado, Trumark Homes has been instrumental in the development of more than 4,000 homes.

2012

Expanded to Trumark Urban

Expanded to Trumark Urban, a high-density condominium developer focused on core urban markets. Trumark has entitled and/or built 8 projects in San Francisco and Los Angeles to date, representing over $1 billion in revenue.

2013

Started Trumark Communities

Started Trumark Communities, a master-planned community developer. Trumark Communities entitles, acquires, develops and manages residential communities, representing over 2,100 residential lots.

2018

Builder of the Year

Trumark Companies nationally recognized as "Builder of the Year", an annual award presented by Professional Builder Magazine since 1966. Recognizing Trumark’s momentous success over the last three decades, the publication honored Trumark’s diversification strategy and adept ability to anticipate and adapt to the future of the home building industry's needs.

2019

Developer of the Year

Trumark named Developer of the Year by Builder & Developer Magazine.

2020

Daiwa House Acquisition

In 2020, Trumark Homes joined the Daiwa House Group. Daiwa House is Japan's largest homebuilder and one of the world's largest public companies. The company is a leading innovator in home construction technology, and its resources strongly enable Trumark Homes to pursue growth initiatives beyond California in other Western submarkets and expand its internal team and leadership within the homebuilding industry. 

2021

Opening of Colorado Division

Trumark Companies announces the opening of a new Trumark Homes division in Colorado— Trumark's first office outside of California.  The new division for Trumark kicked the ground running in master planned communities in Northern Colorado including RainDance and Water Valley.

2023

Wathen Castanos Homes Acquisition

Trumark Homes acquired Central California-based builder, Wathen Castanos Homes. Wathen Castanos Homes was a leading private homebuilder in California’s Central Valley and Central Coast with a long-established legacy of homebuilding success. The acquisition expanded Trumark Homes into new markets, building in San Luis Obispo, Monterey Bay, Clovis, Fresno and Madera.

Livermore, CA

Goodness Village

Trumark Homes was honored to partner with HomeAid Northern California, a non-profit housing provider, to complete infrastructure and site development for the first phase of Goodness Village's master-planned community featuring 28 homes developed on acreage provided by Crosswinds Church. All units have a kitchen, bathroom, and bed. Also on site is a two-bedroom home for a community kitchen, bathroom and laundry, vocational services, community engagement, and a garden and pumpkin patch. The property also features several walking trails.

One Warm Coat

Each holiday season, our divisions come together and select an organization or beneficiary they wish to support in their local community. Our NorCal division helped keep the community warm last winter by hosting a coat drive for One Warm Coat. Within a few weeks, we had two full boxes of new and gently used coats to donate to the organization!
