Kevin Alexander has a trained eye for spotting a high-quality home and a great value. As a local realtor, helping individuals and families across Northern Colorado find the perfect home to meet their needs is an important skill.
As he was helping a young family in their quest for a home around Fort Collins, one that would fit both their budget and ‘must-have’ list, he realized he needed to broaden his search beyond the resale homes in the area.
He was familiar with new home builder Trumark Homes, and added their Kitchel Lake at Serratoga Falls community in Timnath to his list when he learned about an incentive that might qualify his clients for a home in this highly desirable neighborhood.
“I knew of Trumark Homes’ reputation for quality craftsmanship and thoughtful finishes, and Timnath is a great place to live in Northern Colorado,” said Kevin. “It was appealing in many ways, and I knew my clients would be interested after an exhaustive search of existing homes in the market.”
He was right. It was love at first sight – not only for his clients, but also for Kevin. Although he was not looking for a new home, he found Kitchel Lake so appealing that he insisted his wife join him to see the community firsthand.
Kitchel Lake by Trumark Homes includes 44 single-family homes on large 65-foot-wide lots, with both ranch and two-story floorplans, unfinished basements and standard three-car garages. Centered around the lake, it is an ideal community for young families and individuals seeking an outdoor-rich lifestyle.
As a suburb of Fort Collins, Timnath enjoys proximity to a lively retail and dining scene, as well as numerous trails for biking, hiking, walking and running, including the 21-mile Poudre River Trail.
“My wife and I knew that Timnath was where we wanted to raise our young son, and the opportunity to live at Kitchel Lake was one we could not pass up,” he said. “It feels like a country club neighborhood, from the open space behind our home to the well-manicured greenery, parks and ponds, we love it all.”
Kevin was equally impressed with Trumark Homes’ sales and construction team at Kitchel Lake.
“The sales team was very communicative throughout the process and always available via cell phone,” remarked Kevin. “Trumark Homes also has the most detail-oriented construction superintendent I have ever worked with, between homes I have purchased myself and those of my clients.”
He had “full confidence” that things identified during a walk-through would get taken care of. “That takes a lot of stress off me as the agent. I often track a long list on final walk-throughs with clients to make sure things get done. But this team had everything done,” he added.
He sums up the customer experience as “the best I’ve ever had – five stars.”
Kevin and his wife moved into their new home with a newborn son in-tow, and immediately appreciated the expansive ranch floorplan, ten-foot ceilings and high-quality finishes throughout as they nested. However, their favorite locale in the home is their backyard deck.
“We have spent more evenings together and seen more sunsets out on that deck in just a few months than at any of our previous homes combined,” he noted. “It is simply incredible to live here.”
The realtor and his clients are now also neighbors and friends. Being in the same stage of life as young families with small children, they invite each other over for dinner and let their toddlers play together.
“It feels wonderful to be truly settled in a home that we love and one we will be in for a long time.”
