Two new communities in historic downtown Covina feature 283 multifamily flats and townhomes with nostalgic design inspiration and TruFlex customization

Newport Beach, Calif., (September 26, 2022) – Trumark Homes, the award-winning homebuilder with divisions in California and Colorado, announced today that sales have begun for homes at two new communities, Covina Bowl and Zest, near historic downtown Covina. Both communities are being developed in line with the city’s reinvestment in the heart of Covina and will provide convenient access and connectivity for residents to enjoy the area’s new recreation and amenities.

“We are thrilled and truly honored to be creating new homes near this historic part of Covina, with such a rich history and tradition,” said Richard Douglass, Southern California Division President at Trumark Homes. “Trumark Homes is a trusted, high-quality homebuilder and our Covina Bowl and Zest communities will allow individuals and families, including first-time buyers, to experience firsthand the vibrant surroundings and help shape the future of Covina.”

Covina Bowl draws inspiration from its historic past, with mid-century-inspired architectural design. Each home includes a range of designer features and room options, balancing modern amenities and innovative customization with nostalgic vibes. The community features two neighborhoods:

Rows at Covina Bowl includes 40 three-story townhomes with two floor plans ranging from 1,573 square feet to 1,705 square feet, with one to five bedrooms and two-and-a-half to four bathrooms, plus a two-car garage. Some plans will offer optional offices, flex rooms, private dens and covered decks. Prices will start in the high $600,000s.

Some plans will offer optional offices, flex rooms, private dens and covered decks. Prices will start in the high $400,000s.

To honor its notable roots, the original Covina Bowl facility will be repurposed for the community to enjoy – including lawn bowling where the original bowling alley was once located.

Zest is a nod to the site and area’s citrus industry history and homes will highlight designer features and customizable finishes for an array of lifestyles. The community also features two neighborhoods:

Rows at Zest includes 44 three-story townhomes with two floor plans ranging from 1,661 square feet to 1,672 square feet, with one to five bedrooms and two-and-a-half to four bathrooms, plus a two-car garage. Some plans will offer optional offices, flex rooms, private dens and covered decks. Prices will start in the high $400,000s.

With Zest’s direct access to Kelby Park and easy walking distance from the historic downtown Covina and the Metrolink, the location will be attractive to a range of homebuyers. The city also plans to create a Recreation Village in the community with a host of amenities to include commercial and retail space, a library, dog park, indoor gymnasium, a fitness facility and multi-purpose rooms for classes and activities, and direct pedestrian access to the Metrolink station.

All homes in Rows at Covina Bowl and Rows at Zest will also feature Trumark Homes’ signature TruFlex, a revolutionary platform that puts home layout design in the hands of buyers. The TruFlex system enables homebuyers to customize their homes by choosing from various preset design layouts specific to each level of the home. Between all three floors, there are 18 possible layout combinations at Covina Bowl and 27 possible layout options at Zest, making each home’s final floor plan individually tailored to each homeowner’s unique needs.

“Trumark’s commitment to empowering homebuyers is exemplified with the award-winning TruFlex platform,” added Douglass. “Customizing the home of their dreams is in reach for buyers like never before.”

Covina Bowl and Zest are ideally located near the top schools, dining and shopping, parks, renowned medical facilities, and local destinations including Cal Poly Pomona, Raging Waters Los Angeles, and Irwindale Speedway. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy proximity to hiking, skiing and year-round activities at Mount Baldy, Mt. San Antonio, and local mountain resorts including Wrightwood, Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear.

“We look forward to homebuyers discovering all that downtown Covina has to offer and seeing the Covina Bowl and Zest neighborhoods come to life,” Douglass added. “With a nostalgic nod to the past, our homes near the heart of Covina have been designed for future generations to enjoy and make their home.”
