There are 771 million people in the world who do not have access to clean, safe water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide. What does access to clean water mean for an impoverished community? It means that girls and women can stay in school, start businesses, and own their futures. It means that thousands of lives are saved each week as clean water enables people to enjoy basic sanitation. Clean water is life’s most basic need and opens up a world of change for people without it. At Trumark Homes, we recognized this global crisis, and knew we wanted to be part of the solution. Our partnership with charity: water has allowed us to give back and provide safe, clean drinking water to people in developing nations. Read on to learn about how Trumark and charity: water have fought to bring clean water to those in need.
What is charity: water?
Charity: water is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the global water crisis. Since its founding in 2006, Scott Harrison and his team have worked tirelessly to reach this goal. Charity: water uses 100% of each donation to fund their water projects, and tracks every dollar raised to show beneficiaries exactly how their money is being used to help struggling communities.
Trumark Homes and charity: water
Trumark Homes is dedicated to creating communities that foster an enthusiasm to connect, the strength to aspire, and the compassion to give back, so we created the TRU Charity initiative. For approximately every 50 homes we build, we work with charity: water to provide and serve approximately 200 people with clean, fresh water. Our recent well projects we’ve sponsored through charity: water have provided280 people in Malawi and 511 people in Uganda with clean drinking water. At Trumark Homes, we know that the battle is far from over. We look forward to continuing to do our part and creating more clean water solutions for more people and their families. When you buy one of our homes, you get more than just a wonderful place to live; you help provide clean water to developing countries around the world.
