Stuffed yourself fuller than your turkey this Thanksgiving? Conquer that post-feast bloating with these simple detox tips! Cleanse your body from this weekend’s over-indulgence and don’t let your Thanksgiving weekend turn into a Thanksgiving week.
Contrary to popular belief, you should drink more water when you’re bloated. Bloating is your body’s natural response to dehydration. When your body is dehydrated, it responds by retaining fluids, which leads to swelling of the face, stomach, and feet. Here are some tasty alternatives to drinking plain water:
- Lemon water helps digestion, flushes toxin from your system, and improves your skin
- Cucumber water helps remove excess salt and is a natural diuretic
- Watermelon juice helps counter inflammation and is full of vitamins and minerals
- Chicken bone broth helps your digestive system to flush out waste and promotes metabolism
Supplement your liquid detox with whole fruits and vegetables. Consuming these fiber-rich foods will keep you from over-eating and give you a boost of natural energy:
- Apples, pears, bananas, and pomegranate seeds are high in fiber to keep you fuller for a longer period of time, so you don’t go looking for that pumpkin pie
- Collard greens, green peas, butternut squash, and broccoli all have a high fiber content so don’t be afraid to reach for these fiber-rich leftovers
Your Post-Thanksgiving detox guide is almost complete! Now that you know what you should eat, here’s a short list of what you really shouldn’t eat:
- Chemically processed foods are low in nutrients, high in trans fats and oils, and will ultimately only make your unhealthy cravings worse
- Coffee can lead to indigestion, dehydration and hinders the detoxifying function of the liver
- Alcohol places a heavy burden on your body’s detox powerhouse (read: liver) and interferes with your cleanse.
Award-winning homebuilder acquires downtown San Jose parcel and introduces vision for new townhome community at San Pedro Square
San Jose, Calif. (November 29, 2017) – Trumark Homes, the national award-winning California homebuilder, today announced the acquisition of a land parcel in downtown San Jose with plans for a new community adjacent to the popular San Pedro Square Marketplace. The community will offer 78 new townhomes, adding to the urban revitalization of downtown San Jose.
“This prime location has long been underutilized and underdeveloped. We are excited to introduce much-needed new housing to the area and contribute to the revitalization of downtown San Jose,” said Tony Bosowski, Division President at Trumark Homes. “This site will be the first for-sale townhome community of its kind in the vicinity, and will be ideally positioned within walking distance to Diridon Station, the SAP Center and the proposed Google transit village.”
Located at the intersection of North San Pedro, Julian and Devine, and Terraine Streets, the nearly 2.5-acre site comprised of three parcels was acquired by a venture between Trumark Homes and IHP Capital Partners. Floor plans for the two- and three-bedroom townhomes will range from approximately 1,200 square feet to 2,000 square feet and feature attached direct-access garages. Residents will enjoy easy walkability to downtown office, retail, restaurants and entertainment, convenient access to public transportation and freeways, and a close commute to the Mineta San Jose International Airport.
“Introducing new housing to downtown San Jose represents a tremendous opportunity for Trumark to positively impact the growing demand for housing at approachable price points in the Bay Area and capitalize on this primary market poised for continued growth,” said Gregg Nelson, Co-Founder and Principal of Trumark. “As the robust selling environment in the San Jose continues, we are confident that this new community will be met with great interest due to its highly desirable downtown location.”
Trumark will break ground on the project at San Pedro Square in November 2017, with model homes slated to open in 2018. This acquisition adds to Trumark Homes’ Bay Area portfolio, which includes actively selling communities Glass Bay in Newark, Perch in Downtown Dublin, and Fielding at Wallis Ranch in Dublin.

The master bathroom may not be your first thought when you’re dreaming of a getaway, but maybe it should be! A few simple, spa-like touches can elevate your master bath into a luxurious oasis.
Time: 0-1 hour
If you are looking for an easy add to the master bath space, we recommend candles, towels and vanity accessories. Placing candles around the bathtub will open up the room and add additional soft lighting.
Buying new, fluffy towels will surely step up the master bath game, but displaying said towels can elevate your bathroom’s look even further. Consider incorporating a rustic vanity display to store and display towels, soap and other bathroom accessories in a way that is organized and elegant.
Placing green plants near windows will also transform the bathroom. Consider selecting a signature candle and matching scent room spray. All of these modifications will make your bathroom easier to use and more visually appealing.
Time: an hour or more
If quick fixes don’t complete the revamping project, consider adding in bigger wall mirrors to open up the space. Moreover, try painting the walls a soft white or lighter pastel to give the master bath a more airy atmosphere.
Next Level Updates
Budget: 200 +
Time: day long process
To fully transform your master bath into a spa style environment, consider adding jets to the standard bathtub or changing the shower heads to include a rain-water head. These technical changes will forever transform your nightly routine, leading to a more balanced and centered you!
