In today’s busy world, there seems to be less and less time available to devote to house cleaning. Whether it’s a busy work schedule or a long list of extracurricular activities for the kiddos, it can be incredibly easy to put dusting or mopping the house on the backburner. To help you out, we’ve compiled a list of tips to better assist you in keeping your new Trumark Homes home clean:
1. Make Use of Entryway Storage
When you get home after a long day, it is easy to throw off your shoes, drop everything in your hands, and go on to do whatever needs to be done for the night. This can quickly cause a pile up of things that need to be sorted at a later time. Instead, create a special place for these items to go. Install hooks to hang jackets or purses as well as a hook for keys (this will make them easier to find later), have organization bins for shoes, and add a fancy catch-all dish to your entrance table to hold things such as loose change, wallets and mail.

2. Split Up the Work
This means that one person does not do all of the cleaning in one day. More family members often leads to more mess, but it also leads to more helping hands, so put these numbers to use! Each family member should have their own cleaning responsibilities depending on what they are able to accomplish. Also, avoid assigning all cleaning tasks to one day. Not only can this become overwhelming for everyone, but it also breaks up the time so everyone can still accomplish their daily tasks with ease.
3. Put Things Away Immediately After Use
Most dirty house woes can be avoided by simply putting items away after use. This includes laundry, toys, and especially dishes. Instead of letting the sink pile up with dirty dishes, rinse them off immediately, and place them in the dishwasher so that once it is full, all you have to do is push start. By simply putting used items away, you will save hours of cleaning time and avoid a disheveled looking home.
4. Constantly Look to Simplify
The more things you own, the more you have to put away. If you notice there are items in your home that are duplicates, have never been used, or that you could do without, consider selling, donating, or trashing these excess or unnecessary items. You probably do not need six sets of sheets for each bed in your home.

5. Make it Easier to Make Your Bed
If there are too many layers or decorative pillows on your bed, you are probably a lot less likely to want to make it every morning. Perfectly placing your decorative pillows on your fully made bed requires a lot more time (minutes can be crucial in the morning) and effort. Since a room looks significantly nicer when the bed is made, try moving your decorative pillows to the couch or maybe place a few on an arm chair or stacked on a settee bench.
